Walt Disney was awarded an honorary Oscar, and the film was nominated for Best Musical Score. It was added to the United States National Film Registry in 1989 and is ranked in the American Film Institute's list of the 100 greatest American films. But not so long ago, in 2012, another film came out. "Snow White and the Huntsman" is a film equally inspired in the Grimm brothers fairy tale, but quite a lot of details are changed.

For example, in the second film, the evil stepmother is met by Snow White's father after a war, they marry and, when she realises that her stepdaughter can be more beautiful than her, she locks her up in prision. This film is darker and prepared for a teenager public.
In the original film, Snow White is left in the forest by the hunter who doesn't want to kill her. As we see, it's only the beginning and there are a lot of changes.
However, none of the movies are completely loyal to the story, so they can be different faces of the same coin.
